Safeguarding

Here at Cherry Willingham Primary School we are committed to keeping children safe and teaching them in an age appropriate manner how to help keep themselves safe. On this page you will find a range of resources that will help support you as parents in also keeping your child safe.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead, is Mrs Evans our Headteacher, she is supported by Mrs Lowe, our Learning Mentor, as our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. All concerns regarding a child are raised with them, they will then take the necessary steps, including contacting Children's Social Care if necessary.

Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

Where an allegation or concern that a person who works with children, has:

  • behaved in a way that has harmed a child, or may have harmed a child;
  • possibly committed a criminal offence against or related to a child;
  • behaved towards a child or children in a way that indicates that he or she may pose a risk of harm to children; or

Referrals will be made to LADO. This procedure applies when an allegation or suspicion arises within an individuals own work, with his or her own Children, with other children living outside the family and historical allegations.
