Pupils from Cherry represented the school wonderfully at the cross country meet at Lincoln Rugby Club in Nettleham. The majority of year 3 and year 4 pupils had their first taste of running in a competitive schools event, and they performed superbly - Amanda was 6th in the girls' race, and the other girls set their own pace and competed well. In the boys' 3/4 race, our runners grouped nicely in the middle of the field. I'm looking forward to the development of these runners into the full team over the next couple of years.
Well done to our year 6 boys - Olly took a season's best 11th place and everyone ran hard in a quick race. In the 5/6 girls' race, Neve came in a fabulous 1st place; Emma was a thoroughbred 3rd and Emily a scintillating 6th. The remaining girls ran steadily and encouraged each other round - it was nice to see such great teamwork in a running event. A lovely way to round off the season!
Huge thanks to parents, and many congratulations to all runners. The conditions were cold, windy and wet, and they did themselves - and the school - proud.
